NZIA 2022 Gold Medal
Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZIA
For the first time since The Group received it in 2001, the NZIA 2022 Gold Medal has been jointly awarded to Nicholas Stevens and Gary Lawson. The NZIA presented their highest honour in recognition that “architecture is a profoundly collaborative endeavour, and nowhere more so than in this remarkable partnership.”
Stevens Lawson Architects joins the NZIA and the wider architectural community in congratulating Nicholas and Gary on this thoroughly deserved award. We’re delighted with the NZIA’s recognition of partnership being a reflection of the true collaborative nature of the profession, and their celebration of the humanism that is so deeply valued by Nicholas and Gary.
“The Gold Medal is the highest individual honour an architect can achieve in New Zealand. It honours those architects who consistently achieve the highest standards for – and with – their clients. Gold Medal recipients make an outstanding contribution to the practice of architecture, which is demonstrated through a consistently high-quality body of work over a period of time.”
