HomeGround for Auckland City Mission / Te Tāpui Atawhai was runner up in category and awarded Highly Commended – Civic and Community at the World Architecture Festival 2022 in Lisbon, Portrugal.
The project stood out amongst international competition as a sensitive, sustainable, holistic and future-thinking project transforming the work of the Mission and outcomes for marginalised Aucklanders.
“The vision of the Auckland City Mission is for sustained social change and ultimately ending chronic homelessness in central Auckland. A home for all people – safe, secure, warm and equitable physically and socially, HomeGround is designed as a landmark in the city that advances this kaupapa / purpose symbolising that having a home is a right for every member of society.”
